HAPC representative, Amber Awan, single handedly organised and staged an amazingly successful Dinner & Dance in aid of the charity’s Pakistan earthquake appeal. Amazing, because it was the first time Amber had ever attempted something on this scale.
Amber welcomes guests to the fund-raising Dinner Dance
Held in Ilford, London’s east end, and thanks to several sponsors, Amber organised a wonderful package of entertainment, leaving over 200 guests thoroughly satisfied in an evening when they came together to help those affected by the devastating earthquake. By the end of the evening, several well wishers took the opportunity to get photographs and autographs with Club Asia DJ, Jackal and Singers Ajay and Adil Hashimi. The night, of course, wasn’t just about entertainment and, in the course of the enjoyment, over £4,000 was raised.
Amber was, naturally, delighted and thanked everyone for their support. In particular she was indebted to the main sponsors, SAPNA Catering and STORM Promotion. Raveena, who runs STORM Promotion came to the function with 16 teenage boys and girls, who performed 2 separate sessions of beautifully choreographed dancing and singing. They did this, without charge, as their contribution towards an important evening of fund-raising. Mr. Abdul Khan of Khan Properties also generously donated all the drinks for the evening.

Rizwan, of SAPNA catering, pledged his support back in January when he agreed to provide the catering, free of charge. Little did we know that, come the night of the function, Rizwan would turn up with his staff to decorate the tables with their best crockery and cutlery before setting about to serve up an exquisite selection of mouth watering food – all this, to help the charity maximise its fund-raising efforts.
In his address, to those who braved the sub zero temperature to attend the function, HAPC Chairman, Derrick Pereira, praised Amber for her determination to continue with her dream to help victims of the earthquake. For someone so young, with little or no experience, Derrick said that Amber’s success should serve as an example to others to come forward and assist her with the long term project to build an orphanage to care for some of the earthquake orphans. Derrick was also full of praise to all those who came forward to assist Amber. In addition to SAPNA Catering and STORM Promotion, PRABA Banqueting Centre, Platinum Guards, DJ Jackal of Club Asia Radio, and Manny of The NAK provided their professional services at greatly reduced rates. Special thanks was also reserved to all the volunteers, whose invaluable help, contributed to a hugely successful evening.

Not surprisingly, following the success of her first fund-raising function, Amber is planning her next function – a Ladies Night!
For those who were unable to attend the function and would like to make a donation, you can do so in one of a several ways.
